1) Riding in the paddock is strictly prohibited. At the first offence a rider will forfeit his best result of the day. A second offence carries a penalty of exclusion from the meeting as per the BSMA rulebook (sections 14.2, 15 and 16).
2) No pillion passengers to be carried at any time. Non-compliance with this rule will render the rider automatically excluded from the meeting (section 14.3).
3) All vehicles and trailers used for transporting of motocross bikes MUST carry an adequate fire extinguisher (Min 1.5kg – not water) at all times (section 14.7). Spot checks will be carried out at Club meetings.
4) The Club takes the responsibility of Child Protection seriously and hence any instructions or advice given by the Child Welfare Officer should be obeyed. The Child Welfare Officer has the permission of the Management Committee to exclude any rider from the meeting if the member, parent or legal guardian does not comply with any reasonable requests.
5) Parents who are unable to attend a meeting for any reason must give written consent to the Club at Signing On for another adult to take responsibility for their child/young person during the meeting. This includes signing any indemnity forms, membership or other forms required in order to allow the child/young person to race.
6) Generators must be switched off by 11pm each evening unless prior permission is obtained from the Management Committee.
7) All members will be expected to keep the paddock and especially the area around their vehicles clear of all litter and to clear said areas at the end of the day. PLEASE TAKE ALL OF YOUR LITTER HOME including tyres and oils.
8) Any breach of the Club or BSMA/BAMA rules will be taken seriously and may result in the rider being banned from riding with the Club at future events
9) Novice riders must wear a fluorescent bib until they have successfully competed at a minimum of ten Club meetings (section 5.10).
10) All parents will be prohibited from the starting area (with the exception of the auto class). Once the starter has signalled the race is about to start all parents must clear the area. Failure to comply will result in exclusion from the meeting (section 17.1).
11) Gate positions will be decided by pegs for all races of the day unless otherwise advised.
12) In the interest of safety, young children must not be in the track area unattended.Dogs must be kept on a lead during the racing meeting (section 21). Parents and spectators are not permitted onto the track area unless on marshalling duties – they must remain in the designated spectator areas.
13) All protests must go to the Clerk of the Course who will make a decision. If you cannot agree with his ruling, a written protest accompanied by a fee of £25 must be handed to him or the Chief Steward. This will then be passed to the stewards for their decision. If your protest is upheld your fee will be returned to you. See the rulebook section 24.
14) The decision of the First Aid personnel is final on all matters relating to rider health issues (section 19.2).
1) The Club riders for the BSMA Team Event will be selected by the Team Event Manager.
2) The Team Event Manager’s decision in the choice of riders is final.
3) Any dispute must be immediately sent to the Management Committee in writing for consideration.
4) The club will select riders for the BSMA Semi finals according to the BSMA guidelines provided for BSMA Events and as per the BSMA rulebook (section 27)
1) All riders shall produce machines for scrutineering before riding in any Club events. Scrutineering will be as per the BSMA/BAMA rules (section 6 and 11). Front and rear sprocket guards must be fitted to all machines.
2) Correct backgrounds and numbers must be in place before scrutineering.
3) No engine will be started before 9.30am or as directed by the Race Secretary or Clerk of the Course depending on local track regulations.
4) Kill buttons and sprocket guards will, from time to time, be checked on the start line. Bikes with ineffective kill buttons and/or no sprocket guards will not be allowed to start practice or the race.
5) Silencers – Noise checks will be carried out by the Club from time to time to ensure bikes comply with the current BSMA rule on noise limits.
